A spectacular and unforgettable adventure to Everest Base Camp”

On returning home from my trip to Everest base camp, people ask me “how was it?”. I always pause and think: “where do I start? The beautiful forests, the wonderful sounds of yak bells, and the things I learnt from my guide Min Nepali. There was so much awesomeness; it’s very difficult to convey what happened in the two and bit weeks I had with Nepal Mountain Trekkers.
A good start is Nepal Mountain Trekkers organization and friendliness. From the very first contact I made with Ramesh Dhakal there was a good tailoring of the trek to our needs. All matters were well explained and no stone left unturned in Nepal Mountain Trekkers organisation. The adjustment of the holiday to our needs was constant throughout, with our guide Min Nepali was able to change our programmer throughout the trek to adapt to all our wishes. Min acted in a caring and friendly manner throughout the trip.
The accommodation was excellent the whole way up the mountain, the food and drinks options were good (and very filling – I now have a new found love for Dal Baht and yak meat!) and there was plenty of opportunity to meet others travelers and have interesting convivial conversation. Our guide, Min became both a friend as well as our guide 🙂 He was extremely knowledgeable about the environment, enlightening us on our trek on mountain eights, Tibetan culture, and plants. Truly a Renaissance man of the Manaslu Himalayas areas
I heartily recommend anyone considering a trip the Himalayas find these Nepal Mountain Trekkers team to get the most memorable experiences out of your time!

Manaslu Circuit and Marsyangdi Valley, Annapurna, Nepal Trekking

We had arranged with Ramesh from Nepal Mountain Trekkers to do the Manaslu/Tsum trek as a part camping/part tea house trek. We had had Min (Sanjeev) as our guide before and specifically asked for him to guide us again. The team was very considerate of our needs and our comfort and we were well looked after. There were problems, which were out of their control – the weather was not settled and for the first part of the trek we did not have clear views of the peaks; there had been several landslips which made part of the trek difficult; and the main trail into Tsum valley was destroyed so that it was very difficult to go there. Despite these substantial difficulties, we had a great trek around Manaslu, and found the villages of great interest. They are culturally fascinating and we enjoyed conversations with people we met on trek, specifically Nyima from Gyap and Nyima from Samdo who are involved with development projects in their villages. Look out for solar showers in 2017 in Samdo, which are for the local people but also for trekkers and should raise some money for the community. It is inspiring to see again the resilience of the local people as they re-construct after the earthquake as this area was one of the epicentres of the 2015 earthquake. Crossing the Larkye La was not easy, but stunning and we have to mention Syam, our cook, who popped up unexpectedly at different parts of this walk to hand us drinks and snacks. That lifted our spirits no end! As we had extra time, because we had not been able to go into Tsum valley, we did part of the Annapurna circuit, went to Tilicho Lake, Moon Lake and Ice Lake. Here the weather was kinder and we got perfect views of peaks and blue lakes. As we came down again, we spent a night at Temang and saw the most fantastic sunset on Manaslu from there. Apart from the cook Syam, we wish to comment on Min who again was an excellent guide. When there are difficulties, he told us clearly what these were and involved us with making decisions about what to do. We would ask for him as our guide for a future trek. We also had DB (Dhan Bahadur) as our porter/guide for the Annapurna part and could not ask for a better companion. He is very helpful, and sociable, and very helpful when we found parts of the trails difficult. What could have been done differently? The main thing is that it would have been helpful to find out before the trek that it was difficult to get into Tsum and we could have adjusted plans in Kathmandu and got different permits, for example to Nar Phu instead. The Department of Immigration, who issue the permit for Tsum, should have known that the trail into Tsum was closed and stopped issuing permits – their colleagues based in the villages near the beginning of the Tsum Valley trek had certainly known for a number of days before we were approaching that part of the trek. Also on the Annapurna circuit the ‘road’ is having a significant impact. There is a real need for alternative walking trails to be made, maintained and clearly signposted. The ‘road’ has made it possible for the well acclimatized to visit amazing spots like Tilicho Lake in five rather than fourteen days. This means that the hotels and lodges in Manang and above are becoming overcrowded. Overall, we are very happy with the experience. We’ll just have to plan to go back to Tsum Valley another time, and would like to re-visit the high villages of Manaslu, and for a next trek, would plan to incorporate side treks, like walks to the border with Tibet. Thank you to all at Nepal Mountain Trekkers for an excellent trek.

Mindblowing experience!

NMT is a professional agency when it comes to adventure and trekking in Nepal. Owner Ramesh is a warmhearted person that listens to your wishes and provides alternatives you probably wouldn’t have come up with. Above that he also takes good care of his personnel and the area you go to. You can choose if you want him to arrange everything on your trip (like food, housing, etc), or that you want some freedom in there. Our preference is in the latter. In dialogue with Ramesh we decided to do the less popular, more adventurous Mardi Himal trekking in the Annapurna Mountain Region. It turned out to be everything an adventurous trekking is supposed to be. Actually, it was even more than that!

We left for a 2 week trekking with our porter Amar, who in the beginning was a bit quiet. Later on, he turned out to be a wonderful entertainer and a very considerate person when we needed some extra care. The trekking was an unforgettable experience through the wild, pristine and amazing nature of Nepal, combined with the life in the mountains. The only glitch in the trekking was that sometimes we had a tough schedule for the day and the trekking was meant to reach the next destination. Doing this trekking in more days – slowed down – will provide you to more fully enjoy the beautiful surrounding and breathe the atmosphere. The fact that you stay in quite some places without wifi or electricity really makes you escape the demands and pressures of our wired, western world! A highly recommended experience at a heartedly recommended agency.

Mount Everest View Trak – The perfect trak to the table of the world –

I describe our trip to the Mount Everest View point with one word: AMAZING
Everything was perfect. During our trek we had the whole time a comfortable feeling. We arrived in Kathmandu and our guide picked us up at the airport and joined us to our hotel. The hotel was beautiful. It is a small paradise inside Kathmandu. We had the feeling like home. (Hotel Horizon Kathmandu)
Our trip starts on the next day with a fly to Lukla. The first adventure during our trip. After the arrival in Lukla we start our trek with the target Mount Everest view hotel. The landscape during the whole time was amazing. We need three days to arrive the hotel. During this time we slept in Tea Houses and the organization was blameless. After the arriving we had the perfect view to the Mount Everest. The feeling was amazing during this moment. We had the perfect Landscape with all the great peaks. On the next day we started the trek back to Lukla and flight back to Kathmandu on the next morning.
Resume:
During the trip we had a comfortable feeling. Everything was perfect. Are you watching for a one week trip with the perfect landscape and the final view to the Mount Everest? Take this trek. But the trek was more than an amazing landscape and the Mount Everest. You can feel the peaceful atmosphere in the mountains of Nepal and you have a lot of contact to the native people. These people are really amazing.
Thank you to the Team of Nepal Mountain Trekkers. Thank you to Ramesh and to Bisang .It was beautiful.

Amazing family trek with very caring, professional guides.

Our family came to Nepal and found Ramesh while we were staying at Hotel Horizon. He was incredibly helpful in arranging a trek that we could do with our 6 month old daughter.

We did an 11-day trek to Tsum Valley with Suman, Daljit and Ammar, who all took amazing care of us and our friend who trekked with us. The trek was ideal for us, since we wanted to go someplace with less tourists, and where we could learn about local culture as much as possible. We stayed in comfortable guesthouses and one monastery, and had wonderful interactions with our hosts along the way. Suman even helped us arrange a blessing with a local Lama in the Tsum Valley to pray for our family.

The views the whole way were incredible, the people won our hearts, and it was truly a lifetime highlight.

Thank you so much Ramesh, Suman, Daljit, and Ammar! Hope to see you again

Loved it!

We were not quite sure if trekking was going to be something for us, especially because we were traveling with our 2,5yr old son. Ramesh gave us many tips, thought out of the box and suggested alternatives should the trip not be what we expected. Min, our guide was the best we could have wished for. He took plenty of time for us, arranged food and drinks, after a day or two Min just knew what we would have for drinks and would order for us so we haven’t had to wait. He chose excellent small hotels to stop along the way, played with our son and was a fine partner to have conversations with. He told a lot about the environment, life in Nepal and his native village where not much was left of it after the 2015 earthquake.
We have chosen to do an 8 day trek through Poon Hill, Ghandruk, Landruk, and the hotsprings.
The walking days were definitely not too long and the road there is plenty of opportunity for you to catch your breath and enjoy the view. Although we kept asking Min how far we still had to go and when we had our next stop, he kept being all friendly and smiling the whole time. We also hired a porter to carry our heavy bag along the way, it was his first trip though he seemed to enjoy it and ran uphill like he never did something else in his life ☺
After trekking we’ve decided to stay for a few extra days in Pokhara, the hotel Nepal Mountain Trekkers had arranged was really good, staff was wonderful and we just loved this city.

If in Nepal, you haven’t seen the beauty of this amazing country if you haven’t been trekking. Definitely would recommend Ramesh en Min, and all other guides at Nepal Mountain Trekkers. Good price, excellent service. Would do this all over again when we come back to Nepal.

Great trekking company and hotel

Mr. Ramesh Dhakal is very helpful and friendly professional. Even though we were not his clients he gave us plenty of great advices and tips for our Annapurna Circuit Trek. We met him in Kathmandu where we stayed in his hotel Horizon, which is such a lovely place to stay. Although the hotel is in the centre of Thamel, it is very quiet and clean with amazing garden for breakfasts and hangouts. Since we decided that our next Nepal trip will be using their services again, we can highly recommend both Nepal Mountain Trekkers and hotel Horizon.

The best two trips of my life, thanks to Nepal Mountain Trekkers

My first trip to Nepal was in 2010, I contacted with Mr Ramesh Dhakal in Thamel and had a great impression; I asked about the activities I wanted to do (Everest Base Camp trek, Annapurna trek, cultural visits to the cities in Kathmandu Valley, sports…). Ramesh explained to me very kindly about all these activities, very deeply, with all the recomendations about the gear, the food, the guide, and made feel very safe, so I felt convinced about doing the activities with the company and no soloing. He told me a very important thing to me: “Here in Nepal we are happy if you are happy, because if you are happy you´ll come back. We are not interested in cheating people in any means”. We discussed the prices and never felt cheated. After that I met my guide Min Nepali, who was with me almost the entire tiem I spent in Nepal, and we became best friends. Ramesh and Min are really wonderful people, taught me a lot and more about Nepal, the nature, the people, the cities, and moreover with their attitude I learned the beatiful people that are Nepali peoples. Also Mr Devaraj Dhakal, the manager of the hotel the company runs, and all the staff made my journey an experience to remember. From temples to jungle to mountain passes (Everest Base Camp, Annapurna Region, Chitwan, Helambu route, Kathmandu, Bakthapur, Patan, bungee jumping, elefant riding…).

And after that…

From that trip I fell in love with Nepal, so in March 2015 I came back to Nepal with my wife, and of course we contacted Ramesh again. We did the Everest Base Camp route with Min Nepali again, this time more than a guide, he was a brother to us. Never felt treated so well. This time my wife also fell in love with Nepal.

From my experience, if you go to Nepal don´t doubt to contact Nepal Mountain Trekkers. Ramesh Dhakal and his staff will make the very best to make your trip a wonderful experience.
