A spectacular and unforgettable adventure to Everest Base Camp”

On returning home from my trip to Everest base camp, people ask me “how was it?”. I always pause and think: “where do I start? The beautiful forests, the wonderful sounds of yak bells, and the things I learnt from my guide Min Nepali. There was so much awesomeness; it’s very difficult to convey what happened in the two and bit weeks I had with Nepal Mountain Trekkers.
A good start is Nepal Mountain Trekkers organization and friendliness. From the very first contact I made with Ramesh Dhakal there was a good tailoring of the trek to our needs. All matters were well explained and no stone left unturned in Nepal Mountain Trekkers organisation. The adjustment of the holiday to our needs was constant throughout, with our guide Min Nepali was able to change our programmer throughout the trek to adapt to all our wishes. Min acted in a caring and friendly manner throughout the trip.
The accommodation was excellent the whole way up the mountain, the food and drinks options were good (and very filling – I now have a new found love for Dal Baht and yak meat!) and there was plenty of opportunity to meet others travelers and have interesting convivial conversation. Our guide, Min became both a friend as well as our guide 🙂 He was extremely knowledgeable about the environment, enlightening us on our trek on mountain eights, Tibetan culture, and plants. Truly a Renaissance man of the Manaslu Himalayas areas

Manaslu Circuit and Marsyangdi Valley, Annapurna, Nepal Trekking

We had arranged with Ramesh from Nepal Mountain Trekkers to do the Manaslu/Tsum trek as a part camping/part tea house trek. We had had Min (Sanjeev) as our guide before and specifically asked for him to guide us again. The team was very considerate of our needs and our comfort and we were well looked after. There were problems, which were out of their control – the weather was not settled and for the first part of the trek we did not have clear views of the peaks; there had been several landslips which made part of the trek difficult; and the main trail into Tsum valley was destroyed so that it was very difficult to go there. Despite these substantial difficulties, we had a great trek around Manaslu, and found the villages of great interest. They are culturally fascinating and we enjoyed conversations with people we met on trek, specifically Nyima from Gyap and Nyima from Samdo who are involved with development projects in their villages. Look out for solar showers in 2017 in Samdo, which are for the local people but also for trekkers and should raise some money for the community. It is inspiring to see again the resilience of the local people as they re-construct after the earthquake as this area was one of the epicentres of the 2015 earthquake. Crossing the Larkye La was not easy, but stunning and we have to mention Syam, our cook, who popped up unexpectedly at different parts of this walk to hand us drinks and snacks. That lifted our spirits no end! As we had extra time, because we had not been able to go into Tsum valley, we did part of the Annapurna circuit, went to Tilicho Lake, Moon Lake and Ice Lake. Here the weather was kinder and we got perfect views of peaks and blue lakes. As we came down again, we spent a night at Temang and saw the most fantastic sunset on Manaslu from there. Apart from the cook Syam, we wish to comment on Min who again was an excellent guide. When there are difficulties, he told us clearly what these were and involved us with making decisions about what to do. We would ask for him as our guide for a future trek. We also had DB (Dhan Bahadur) as our porter/guide for the Annapurna part and could not ask for a better companion. He is very helpful, and sociable, and very helpful when we found parts of the trails difficult. What could have been done differently? The main thing is that it would have been helpful to find out before the trek that it was difficult to get into Tsum and we could have adjusted plans in Kathmandu and got different permits, for example to Nar Phu instead. The Department of Immigration, who issue the permit for Tsum, should have known that the trail into Tsum was closed and stopped issuing permits – their colleagues based in the villages near the beginning of the Tsum Valley trek had certainly known for a number of days before we were approaching that part of the trek. Also on the Annapurna circuit the ‘road’ is having a significant impact. There is a real need for alternative walking trails to be made, maintained and clearly signposted. The ‘road’ has made it possible for the well acclimatized to visit amazing spots like Tilicho Lake in five rather than fourteen days. This means that the hotels and lodges in Manang and above are becoming overcrowded. Overall, we are very happy with the experience. We’ll just have to plan to go back to Tsum Valley another time, and would like to re-visit the high villages of Manaslu, and for a next trek, would plan to incorporate side treks, like walks to the border with Tibet. Rilascio il mio apprezzamento per l’onesta di Ramesh dimostrata in occasione del nostro trekking nel kumbu valley.Arrivati a Denboche mia moglie è stata colpita dalla violenta tosse dovuta all’aria secca di lassù e dopo due giorni di attesa per vedere gli sviluppi siamo stati costretti a malincuore a fare dietrofront.Avevamo pagato anticipatamente all’agenzia Nepal Mountain Trekkers il costo per il portatore (il buon Nima) per 20 giorni e al rientro a Katm. visto che il trekking si era concluso in 15 giorni ci è stata restituita la somma dei giorni non utilizzati.Non è da tutti

Atemberaubend und immer wieder schön .

Everest view Trekk mit schönen Aussichten und einem Guide, der auf alles achtet. Ich bin immer wieder in Nepal , nur habe ich mich in solche Höhen noch nie getraut. Es braucht schon etwas Vorbereitung , denn man muss fit sein für so ein Vorhaben. Schon allein der Flug nach Lukla ist ein Abenteuer für sich . Man sieht Berge und Menschen , die mit wenigen Worten nicht zu beschreiben sind . Mit Suman war ich auf einen wunderschönen Weg unterwegs .Jedes mal, wenn er merkte, dass ich an meine Grenzen gekommen bin, wurde erst mal eine kleine Rast eingelegt, so dass ich mich immer wohl und gut aufgehoben gefühlt habe. So konnte ich den ganzen Weg geniessen. Vor allem war ich sehr fasziniert, wie die Menschen da oben leben und wie herzlich sie doch sind. Der Weg alleine, ist mit all seinen Aussichten und seiner Geschichte , diese Reise wert. Noch einmal vielen Dank für die liebe Beratung und einen Freund, der mir immer zur Seite gestanden hat.

Excellent !

C’est la deuxième fois que je profite de cette agence. C’est une équipe très professionnelle qui taille des treks sur mesure, bien qu’une multitude d’offres soit proposée. Le respect de l’environnement et de la population locale constitue également un atout majeur de cette agence. C’est excellent. Je recommande vivement !

En dehors des sentiers battus

J’ai découvert cette agence de Trekking par hasard et je n’ai vraiment pas été déçu.
Je voulais faire un trek pour découvrir la culture local en dehors des habituels treks très (trop) fréquentés et ils m’ont proposé un trek sur mesure correspondant vraiment à ma demande.
Je suis parti seul avec un guide vraiment très sympathique et professionnel qui est devenu un ami. Ce trek ma fait découvrir la culture du Népal. Nous dormions chez l’habitant et j’ai pu ainsi découvrir le mode de vie et les coutumes des Népalais.
Je n’ai pas vu un seul touriste pendant les 6 jours de mon trek et les personnes rencontrées étaient vraiment accueillantes et intriguées par ma présence. Rien à voir avec le contact ressentie lors des treks sur les sentiers classiques des Annapurna par exemple.
Je recommande vivement cette agence sérieuse qui propose des treks à la découverte du Népal authentique.

Auch der zweite Besuch war ein tolles Erlebnis!

Vor mehr als drei Jahren habe ich zufällig Ramesh Dhakal kennengelernt, als ich auf der Suche nach einem Hotel war; Ramesh war Teilhaber einer Trekkingagentur in den Räumen des Hotel “Horizon” (auch dieses ist sehr zu empfehlen!).
Ramesh hat mich mit seinem Mitarbeiter Krishna zusammengebracht, der mich auf einer zweiwöchigen Tour durch Helambu und Langtang begleitet hat: Ein wunderbares Erlebnis und ein sehr entspannendes Wandern. Bisher war ich – sechs Mal in 38 Jahren – immer nur allein im Himalaya unterwegs gewesen. Nun wurde ich rundum von Krishna versorgt; Ramesh hatte die Tour auch perfekt vorbereitet.
Deshalb war es auch keine Frage für mich, dass ich die nächste Tour wieder mit diesen Freunden mache. Schon von Deutschland aus habe ich angefragt; Ramesh hat dann mit seiner neuen Agentur Nepalmountaintrekkers, deren Inhaber er ist, alles vorbereitet: Mein alter Guide und Träger Krishna hat mich schon am Flughafen abgeholt, alles war geregelt und zusammen sind wir diesmal um den Manaslu gewandert:
Alles wieder perfekt organisiert und durchgeführt: Kompetent, zuverlässig, freundlich – kann ich sehr gerne weiterempfehlen und wünsche der Agentur Nepalmountaintrekkers und den Mitarbeitern alles Gute!

Annapurna Base Camp

Zum Ende meines dreimonatigen Aufenthalts in Nepal wollte ich nach meiner Arbeit an zwei Schulen wenigstens noch eine kurze Trekkingtour machen. Ramesh, Leiter der Agentur Nepal Mountain Trekkers, hat zwar den Mardi Himal Trek vorgeschlagen aber aus Zeitgründen habe ich mich dann für den Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) Trek entschieden. Auch mein „alter“ Guide Krishna war zur geplanten Zeit frei. Die Tour vom 4. bis 11. Mai war begleitet von hoher Bewölkung und gelegentlichen Schauern am Nachmittag. Krishna drängte aber jeden Tag auf einen frühen Aufbruch und so hatten wir vormittags noch Sonne und gute Sicht und blieben von den Schauern am Nachmittag verschont. Im Base Camp gab es nachts Schneefall und dann am Morgen blauen Himmel mit einem wunderbaren Panorama. „Danke“ an Ramesh und Krishna für die perfekte Organisation und Durchführung.

Vertraue dein Leben , einem Guide an , und du bekommst es unversehrt wieder .

Ich bin immer wieder erstaunt , mir wie viel Liebe und Fachwissen die Nepalis ihren Job in den Bergen machen . Ob es Tika ist oder Suman, mit allen Guides hat man von Anfang an einen tollen Begleiter an der Seite ,der in allen Lebenslagen eine Lösung findet. Man bekommt jeden schönen Platz zu sehen und sei er auch noch so klein . Der Guide, weiss wo sie sind . Ich fühle mich bei jedem Schritt geborgen. Auch wenn ich mal eine längere Pause brauche , ich habe einen geduldigen Begleiter an meiner Seite, der auch von unterwegs schon dafü sorgt, dass ich gut unter komme und verpflegt werde . Nicht zu beschreiben , ist immer wieder der atemberaubende blick . wo man doch manchmal auf eine Stelle hingewiesen wird, die einem völlig unscheinbar erscheint . Ich kann jedem nur empfehlen , seinen Weg in Nepal, kann man zu einem unvergesslichen Erlebnis machen .

ho visitato il nepal, affascinato da alcuni libri che avevo letto, per la partenza non avevo prenotato nulla, sono andato all avventura giunto sul posto mi sono affidato a questa agenzia per effetuare il famoso trekking ABC (Annapurna Base Camp) di 11 giorni!

E’ stato un viaggio fantastico e incredibile, con paesaggi mozzafiato, personale dell agenzia mi è stato sempre vicino, e mi ha anche consigliato cosa portarmi e come vestirmi, quale era il percorso piu adatto a me e alle mie capacità, mi hanno fatto sentire bene e protetto, grazie a tutto lo staff dell agenzia che è stato eccezionale, spero di tornarci quanto prima, per effettuare altri trekking!
