Trip introduction

“A lake carries you into recesses of feeling otherwise impenetrable.”

Rara short trek is an uncomplicated and straightforward trek that gives us a quick and short trek to Rara Lake with wonderful opportunities to discover the biggest and the deepest lake of Nepal. Magnificently gorgeous-looking Rara Lake cuddles up at an altitude of approximately 3000 meters with an estimated area space of about 11 sq. km. Located inside the Rara National Park, Rara Lake in terms of visual perspective is a very picturesque lake secluded and unblemished from the outside world.

Overview of Rara Short Trek

A journey to Rara Lake is one of the most implausible and mesmerizing treks in all the Himalayan ranges. Our 12-day Rara short trek to Rara Lake with us begins at Talcha after a couple of short flights from Kathmandu to Nepaljung and then to the mountainous airport of Talcha. Whereas, Rara Lake is hardly a half-day trek away from the Talcha Airport.

The landscape of Rara Lake

Surrounded by the lush vegetation in all directions, Rara Lake is not only ringed by the wonderful woods of pine, spruce, and juniper, it also has hundreds of species of wildflowers and herbal plants prospering at its shores. Likewise, we hike to Murma top for the day exploration around this pristine Lake. As well as, the great views of stunning Rara Lake, the lush forest surrounding it, and the snow-capped mountain peaks soaring up to the skyline.

Lifestyle and cultures

Rara Lake Short Trek is just the thing for the travel enthusiasts who are looking onward for wilderness and a grand solitude trek. We shall also visit the Murma Village where we can get a little glimpse into the lifestyle and cultures of people in small settlements who have made this heavenly place their home.

End of Rara Lake Trekking

And after a day exploring, our short trek shall end with a return back to Talcha for a flight to Kathmandu. On the other hand, our short trek also possesses two extra alternative routes moving through different places from the ninth. Meaning you shall have even more bountiful opportunities to explore other hidden spots of this enchanting region.

Who can join this trek? When and how?

Generally, any reasonably fit person can join our Rara Short Trek as this trek doesn’t involve too many challenging terrains. Whereas, March to June and September to November can be considered as the best trekking season for this trek.
