Detail Itinerary

Day 01 : Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m):

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, a representative from Nepal Mountain Trekkers will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. After checking in and taking some time to rest, enjoy a short walk around the vibrant streets of Thamel. In the evening, you’ll attend a detailed trek briefing, meet your guide, and enjoy a welcome dinner featuring authentic Nepali cuisine.

Day 02 : Drive from Kathmandu (1400m) to Chitwan (100m/328ft) | 5 to 6 hrs drive:

After an early breakfast in Kathmandu, we set off on the drive to Chitwan, home to one of Nepal’s best wildlife reserves. The 160 km route takes 5 to 6 hours, passing through Muglin and Narayanghat before reaching Sauraha. Expect winding hill roads, river views, and small roadside villages along the way. On arrival you’re greeted with a welcome drink and check into Chitwan Park Village or Jungle Wildlife Camp. Later, we walk through a nearby Tharu village to learn about their lifestyle, followed by an energetic Tharu cultural dance show in the evening. We end the day with a quiet sunset by the Rapti River.

Day 03 : Jungle Adventure in Chitwan National Park:

Today is a full day inside Chitwan National Park, with plenty to enjoy. We start with a canoe ride along the river, watching for basking crocodiles, before heading into the jungle for a guided jungle walk and birdwatching. Elephant bathing is also available if you’d like to join. Later, we set out on a jeep or elephant safari deep into the park, with chances to spot rhinos, deer, and other wildlife. Tharu culture remains part of the day, with local stories and village life around Sauraha adding to the experience. We share a jeep for the journey and return to Chitwan Park Village or Jungle Wildlife Camp for the night, tired but happy with plenty of jungle stories to take with us.

Day 04 : Jeep Safari and Explore :

We wake up early to watch the sunrise in the jungle, the best considered time to catch Chitwan’s wildlife, also great time for wildlife photography. The rest of the morning is spent on a jeep safari, scanning the grasslands and riverbanks for rhinos, deer, and maybe even a tiger sighting if we’re lucky. You can also click photographs throughout the ride. Then we wander off to the local market in Sauraha. In the evening, we relax by the river, watching the town settle down as the light fades. Our final night in Chitwan.

Day 05 : Drive to Pokhara | 4 to 5 hrs drive:

After breakfast, we leave the lowlands of Chitwan behind and head towards Pokhara, the city of lakes. The drive takes about 4 to 5 hours, with the landscape shifting from flat plains to rolling hills as we get closer. Once we arrive, there’s time to explore Pokhara’s Lakeside at your own pace, whether that means a coffee by Phewa Lake or just a walk around. We check into Hotel Pokhara View and settle in for the night, resting up before the trekking days ahead.

Day 06 : Drive to Kande and Hike to Deurali (2100m) via Australian Camp (1,950m) |1 hr drive and 4 hrs hike:

Today marks our first trekking day. We drive to Kande, the usual starting point for the Mardi Himal Base Camp trek, and start hiking through terraced farmland and thick rhododendron forest. Along the way we pass Australian Camp, a small viewpoint with nice hill views, before continuing on to Deurali. The hike takes around 4 hours and eases everyone into the trail before the bigger climbs ahead. We spend the night in a teahouse at Deurali, 1,950m, with the mountains starting to feel a lot closer.

Day 07 : Trek from Deurali (2100 m) to Forest Camp (2,550m) | 4 to 5 hrs hike:

Today we continue from Deurali, the trail leads deeper into forest, with oak, maple, and rhododendron trees lining the path most of the way. It’s a quieter day on the trek, around 4 to 5 hours of walking, with a shaded, peaceful trail that’s easy on the legs. We reach Forest Camp (2,550m) by afternoon and settle into the teahouse there for the night. This is one of the quieter parts of the Mardi Himal trek, where the fresh forest air and peaceful surroundings help keep our minds fresh and calm as we make our way from Deurali to Forest Camp.

Day 08 : Trek from Forest Camp (2,550m) to Badal Danda (3,289m) | 6 hrs hike:

Today’s ascend takes us through the moss-covered forests with occasional glimpse of Machhapuchhre and Mardi Himal. It’s about 6 hours of steady climbing to reach Badal Danda (3,289m). The name means “cloud hill,” and once you’re there, it’s easy to see why — the views stretch out over cloud level. We stay overnight in a teahouse here, with the peaks now clearly in view.

Day 09 : Trek from Badal Danda (3,289m) to High Camp (3,900m) | 2 hrs hike:

Today a short hike, roughly 2 hours of walking along open alpine ridges to reach High Camp (3,900m). The trail feels different here from the forest days below — more exposed, with wide views opening up on both sides. Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre are close enough now to feel properly big. We settle into a teahouse in High Camp for the night, resting up ahead of tomorrow’s push to base camp.

Day 10 : Hike to Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,500m) and Return to Badal Danda (3,289m) | 6 hrs hike round trip:

This is the big day. We start early, well before sunrise, to hike up to Mardi Himal Base Camp at 4,500m in time to watch the sun rise over Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre. The views from up here are some of the best on the whole trek, and it’s a real payoff after days of climbing. After spending time at base camp, we head back down to Badal Danda for the night, the round trip taking about 6 hours in total.

Day 11 : Trek from Badal Danda (3,289 m) to Forest Camp (2,550m) | 3 to 4 hrs hike:

After the effort of reaching base camp, today is a gentler one as we descend through the forest from Badal Danda to Forest Camp. The walk takes around 3 to 4 hours and is mostly downhill, which can feel easier in some parts but still be tough on the legs after the previous day’s climb. We take it easy, enjoy the peaceful surroundings, and spend another night at the Forest Camp teahouse.

Day 12 : Trek from Forest Camp (2,550m) to Ghandruk (1,940m) | 4 to 5 hrs hike:

We leave the Mardi Himal trail behind and head toward Ghandruk, a large Gurung village known for its mountain views, strong local culture, and famous rhododendron trails. The walk takes around 4 to 5 hours, passing through beautiful rhododendron forests along the way. Sitting at 1,940m, Ghandruk offers some of the best village views of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre in the region. We spend the night in a teahouse, with time to wander through the charming stone-paved village lanes.

Day 13 : Trek from Ghandruk (1,940m) to Tadapani (2,630m) | 3 to 4hrs hike:

From Ghandruk, we continue toward Tadapani, walking through the forest trails that keep offering views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre along the way. Today’s hike is a short one which takes about 3 to 4 hrs to complete, with a mix of ups and downs through the woods. Tadapani is at the altitude of 2,630m, a great spot for spending the evening with the mountain views right from the teahouse.

Day 14 : Trek from Tadapani (2,630m) to Dobato (3,400m) | 5 to 6 hrs hike :

Today’s trail takes us from Tadapani to Dobato, mostly through peaceful forest with rhododendrons. The walk takes about 5 to 6 hours. For those with energy left, there’s an optional sunset hike toward Muldai View Point in the evening. We settle into a teahouse at Dobato (3,400m) for the night.

Day 15 : Sunrise at Muldai View Point (3,637 m) | Trek to Ghorepani (2,850m) | 6 to 7 hrs hike:

We wake up early for the sunrise at Muldai View Point, one of the best panoramic spots for 360-degree view of the Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and the surrounding peaks. After the view, we head back down for breakfast and then continue our trek to Ghorepani, one of the most iconic villages on the Annapurna region. Today’s hike takes 6 to 7 hours to complete, but the scenery makes it worth it. Overnight stay in a teahouse at Ghorepani (2,850 m).

Day 16 : Trek to Banthati and Drive to Pokhara (820m) | 3 hrs hike and 2 to 3 hrs drive:

From Ghorepani, we descend through forest toward Banthati, a walk of about 3 hours. From there, a private vehicle takes us on a scenic 2 to 3 hour drive back down to Pokhara. It’s a good feeling arriving back at lake level after spending days on the trail. We check into Hotel Pokhara View and spend the evening relaxing by the lake, a well-earned rest after the trekking stretch.

Day 17 : Leisure Day in Pokhara (820 m):

Today is a free day in Pokara, with no fixed plans. You can spend your day by relaxing by the Phewa Lake, also boating is a great option if you want to get out on the water. You can also grab some items you like or simply wander around Pokhara, exploring the city. Today marks our last at Pokhara.

Day 18 : Drive back to Kathmandu (1,400m) | 6 to 7 hrs | Farewell Dinner:

Today, we head back to Kathmandu, either by road or a short scenic flight for those short on time. After arriving in the city, there’s time for some last-minute shopping, picking up souvenirs, or revisiting your favorite spots around the city. We close out the trip together with a farewell dinner alongside your guide, sharing stories from the trail over one final Nepali meal.

Day 19 : Departure from Kathmandu:

Depending on your flight time, our team will transfer you to the international airport. As you leave Nepal, you’ll take home more than photographs—you’ll carry unforgettable memories of the Mardi Himal Base Camp, Muldai View Point, Chitwan’s wild landscapes, and the scenic trails of Ghorepani, along with the warmth of Nepal’s people and the beauty of its mountains, forests, and villages.
