Trip introduction

Adventure Explore Dolpo Trek takes us around remote areas of northwestern Nepal. Trekking around off the beaten path of the Dolpo region offers once in a lifetime of adventurous experiences. The major highlights of this adventure Dolpo trekking are: exploring Shey Phoksundo Lake, insights into the local lifestyle, culture, and traditions untouched by modernization while visiting ancient Shey Gompa and other monasteries, passing through high passes over 5,000 meters with excellent views of the snow-capped Himalayas and overall enthralling experiences that simply can’t be described in words.

Journey: Adventure Explore Dolpo Trek

We begin our Adventure Explore Dolpo Trek after your arrival at Kathmandu followed by the next day’s trekking preparations. Initially, we board a scenic flight from the culturally affluent capital city of Kathmandu towards Nepalgunj located in the western region of Nepal. Likewise, we catch our second domestic flight from Nepalgunj to Juphal and start trekking towards beautiful Dunai which is also the starting point of this adventurous trek.

Gradually ascending through lower altitude valleys of Chhepka and Recchi; we arrive at the deepest lake of Nepal, Phoksundo Lake offering plenty of natural exploration opportunities. Further, we ascend through beautiful yet adventurous trekking trails around the Dolpo region; while setting up a tented forest camp for an overnight stay.

We push ourselves further to Khang la high camp and popular Shey Gompa before crossing high altitude Khang La pass; at an altitude of 5360m above sea level. Shey Gompa is a famous ancient monastery offering rich cultural insights into local Buddhism rituals and traditions. Trekking adventurously through unexplored valleys, and settlements, and a visit to beautiful monasteries like Yangjer Gompa, uniquely warm hospitality from local inhabitants, crossing high passes like Muri La, Chharka La, setting up camps at multiple sites, and finally arriving at Jomsom before boarding a flight to Pokhara with another connecting flight that brings us back to Kathmandu.

CLIENTS REVIEW

What our customers say about us

Go with these guys!

Took a trip to Inner Dolpo with these guys and it was great! Everything they promised I got and they promised a lot. Ramesh is very knowledgable and easy to work with and his guide Krishna his porter Baljit were great travel companions. You could go with a big name company but why would you? Get personalized and trustworthy service with these guys. Plus, their hotel is in a perfect location: close enough to Thamel for convenience but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful.
