Chisapani Nagarkot Namobuddha Trekking offers a perfect blend of cultural insights and natural magnificence of spectacular snow-capped panoramic mountain views during sunrise and sunset that makes it an ideal short and easy trekking holiday in Nepal. Chisapani Nagarkot Namobuddha Trekking can be done in 10 Days (including Arrival and Departure Day). This is an extended version of our Chisapani Nagarkot Trekking to explore more around the popular Namobuddha Monastery, Dhulikhel, and Bhaktapur sightseeing.

Journey: Chisapani Nagarkot Namobuddha Trekking

The trek begins as you arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport and visit around UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu valley. Initially, we go for a short drive towards Sundarijal; a popular picnic spot for locals living at the center of the city. As we move ahead, we pass through several stone steps, the bank of rivers, striking waterfalls, river dams, and beautiful rhododendron forests.

Observing the cultural mix settlements of Gurungs, Brahmins, and Sherpas around the trails, we arrive at Chisapani. After trekking for approximately seven hours from Chauki Bhanjyang, we arrive at Nagarkot. During clear sky, large Himalayan range from Dhaulagiri, Manaslu to Mt. Everest and even Kanchenjunga is in sight. We will wake up early in the morning to view the magical sunrise panoramic views Himalayas. Then, you have an option to either visit the nearby world heritage site of Changu Narayan temple. And return to Kathmandu. As well as, extend this trip and drive to Dhulikhel, visit Namobuddha monastery, and go for Bhaktapur Durbar square sightseeing; on our way back to Kathmandu.

Detail Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu and Transfer to Hotel::

As soon as you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport and complete the immigration process, our representative waiting for you at the airport with a private vehicle will redirect you to the hotel. After getting refreshments, you can go for an evening walk around Thamel. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 2 : Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing::

Before starting our Chisapani Nagarkot Trekking, we go for cultural sightseeing around UNESCO world heritage sites at Kathmandu valley. Initiating with Kathmandu Durbar Square, we visit, Swayambhunath Stupa, Boudhanath Stupa, and Pashupatinath Temple that offers a great insight into rich cultural, traditional and religious values. We return back to our hotel after completing Kathmandu valley Sightseeing. Overnight stay at the hotel (Hotel Green Horizon or similar) in Kathmandu.

Day 3 : Drive to Sundarijal (1,350m/4,430ft) and Trek to Chisapani (2,165m/7,104ft)::

We have our early meal at the hotel and head for an hour’s drive towards Sundarijal which is also the starting point of our trek and a well-known picnic spot for locals of Kathmandu valley. As we climb gradually through the stone steps of Sundarijal along the riverbank of Bagmati River, we encounter a striking waterfall, temple, walking through refreshing forests, and enter Shivapuri National Park. Then crossing a small dam, we make our way towards Chisapani where we get great views of mountains, landscapes, and a chance to explore Sherpa villages.

Day 4 : Chisapani to Nagarkot (2,175m/7,135ft)::

Our day starts after we wake up early in the morning, and prepare ourselves for today’s walk from Chisopani to Nagarkot. Making our way through refreshing rhododendron forests inside Shivapuri National Park, we do a quick stop at Jule, and relax for a while. We slowly head further and arrive at the scenic hilltop of Nagarkot offering excellent views of the Himalayan range which are best viewed during sunrise and sunsets. Finally, our day ends with a beautiful sunrise at Nagarkot over the Himalayas.

Day 5 : Nagarkot to Dhulikhel (1,550m/5,085ft)::

Today, we wake up early in the morning before dawn for capturing the wonderful sunrise views over the snow-capped mountains. After watching the spectacular sunrise from Nagarkot, we drive further east towards Dhulikhel, enjoy the Newar communities with great Himalayan views. Overnight stay at a comfortable resort in Dhulikhel.

Day 6 : Dhulikhel to Namobuddha (1,750m/5,742ft)::

From Dhulikhel, either we trek through Panauti or take a drive towards the beautiful Namobuddha monastery located at the hilltop. Namobuddha offers insights into beautiful Buddhist culture, tradition, and rituals. Visiting around the monastery is a great experience with beautiful landscape views.

Day 7 : Namobudhha to Bhaktapur (1,400m/4,595ft)::

Today we return from Namobudhha monastery towards the culturally affluent small town of Bhaktapur.

Day 8 : Bhaktapur Sightseeing::

We will do a full day of Bhaktapur sightseeing. There are plenty of temples, palaces, and traditionally affluent sites around Bhaktapur.

Day 9 : Bhaktapur to Patan, Patan Sightseeing and back to Kathmandu::

We take a drive towards the next town of Patan, get insights into local arts and architectures before getting back to Kathmandu.

Day 10 : Departure Day::

With all the memories and sweet times, you will be taken to the Airport by our representative on our Private Vehicle from where you will catch a flight to your own destination.
