Being the wrong side of 70 the only thing left on my bucket list was to see Mount Everest. I noticed that Nepal Mountain Trekkers did a trek up to the Hotel Everest View which was just what I wanted. Well. I chose the right company. Ramesh and his team are very experienced and they are also lovely people. Right from the outset Ramesh was brilliant. He planned my trek and always promptly answered all my questions. I was going to hire a duffel bag, sleeping bag and quilt jacket but they happened to have spares so lent me those. He couldn't have done more to help. My guide Suman met me at the airport on arrival and nobody could have looked after me better during the whole experience. When plans went slightly awry ie. cancelled flights Suman was always able to come up with the best alternatives. He is a lovely man, he carried my bags all the way, and couldn't have looked after me better. I've had a wonderful challenging experience and I thank Nepal Mountain Trekkers for it.
Namaste and warm greeting from Nepal. Thanks for sharing your experience about Everest View Trek with us. Hope we came up to meet your expectations from a trekking company and your valuable time was utilized properly. It was a great pleasure to serve you while you were here and we assure that in upcoming days also we will keep on providing more better services for our clients.
We are looking forward for your support in future also and thank you once again for spending your precious time to write about us.
Cheers,
Ramesh Dhakal

Ramesh, the owner, was our guide 15 years ago when we were last in Nepal, so we were delighted to return when he has his own company – he did not disappoint! He helped us plan an itinerary with our three children (aged 13, 11 and 8 years) that was challenging but never too much. He set us up with a wonderful guide (Dal) and two porters, Hem (also a guide at times - experienced, patient and calm) and Arjun (young and energetic). Sometimes now, back at work in Canada on a stressful day, I try to channel Hem’s calmness. They became our extended family and we were sad to leave them all at the end.
Ramesh is kind, helpful and honest and has extensive guiding experience himself; we highly recommend him and his company. We stayed at Hotel Horizon in Thamel (Kathmandu) which was ideally located and served our purposes well with a nice courtyard for tea and breakfast.
We did the early part of the Everest trek – starting at Shivalaya near Jiri and staying in teahouses. This part is much quieter than the trek onwards from Lukla, and also with the kids we wanted to avoid high altitudes. I love those earlier parts with the green terraced hills and the people (both Nepalis and trekkers) are much friendlier as it’s not as busy. The highest we slept at was Namche Bazaar (day trips from there) although the kids were totally fine on all the passes so we likely could have gone higher. It was a wonderful experience for all of us. Just a warning though, the long drive in is not for the faint of heart (or stomach!) though, so I’d recommend using Gravol (or similar) if you get motion sickness. After trekking we flew back out of Lukla which of course is also not for the faint of heart! Make sure you allow extra time at the end as people often get stuck in Lukla for a few days due to weather.
This was our third trip to Nepal so we knew what to expect although it’s certainly gotten busier and the omnipresence of cell phones was a surprise. Our first trip many years ago we did without a guide, and although we were fine, we realized the experience is so much better with a guide so we would never do without again. We also know people that recently did the Manaslu trek and loved that, so that will likely be our next trip, which unfortunately will likely be a few years out.
Thanks so much to Ramesh for organizing our trip, to his team for taking such wonderful care of us and giving us amazing memories! Nepal is such a wonderful country and we were thrilled to be able to finally share it with our whole family. We look forward to coming back again as soon as we can! Although we have visited many countries, Nepal holds a very special place in our hearts.
Our first hike in Nepal and it was incredible! Ramesh organised our itinerary for my husband and I based on the amount of time that we had. This included a personal airport pickup, our return flights to and from Lukla, a guide and porter for us, and also our accomodation in Kathmandu before and after our trek. We set out planning to get to Tengboche, as our time was limited, but we were able to take it day by day depending on how we were fairing. As we hiked, we thought, this isn't as hard as we thought it would be - let's go further! Our amazing guide named Tika was obliging and set a new route for us mid-hike and we made it all the way to Ama Dablam base camp. Tika was always only a few steps ahead and was happy to tell us the names of all the mountains we could see along the way, the names of trees and plants, and the names of the villages across distant valleys. When we reached our destination each night he was always busy organising our meals, cups of tea, making sure our drink bottles were filled and that we were happy and healthy. He's a very polite, caring and experienced guide (with great english skills) who we'd definitely request for our next Himalayan experience and would certainly recommend to anyone else too. We cannot express how satisfied and impressed we were with this company; a well run, honest business that really care for the customer's experience and safety. Nepal Mountain Trekkers allowed us to choose our own start and end date and plan the trek each day with no fixed or locked in agenda. This type of flexibility is something that you do not get in large group tours. It was our own private tour without the private tour price. I had the joy of getting sick the day before we left Nepal and Ramesh organised for my care at a local hospital - complete with sorting our insurance and transfers to and from the hospital. He went above and beyond his duty as hotel manager and trekking company operator - he made a difficult time easier. Both Ramesh and our guide Tika came to the hospital to visit and make sure my health was on the mend. There are many companies in Kathmandu that can take you on a breathtaking hike; but this one truely has the heart and passion for this exceptional place on Earth. We are already planning our next trip to Gokyo Ri with Nepal Mountain Trekkers - We couldn't recommend higher! Nepal Mountain Trekkers 100%
My daughter and I recently returned from a fantastic trip to Nepal where we trekked in the Himalayas to view Mount Everest, toured Katmandu and took a jeep safari in Bardhia National Park.
We highly recommend contacting Ramesh at Nepal Mountain Trekkers to assist you with coordinating and organizing your travel plans while in Nepal. Ramesh will customize your trip to your wishes and comfort levels before you arrive or when you arrive (with flexibility in mind). He will provide you with experienced guides for trekking and or sight seeing. We were so thankful to be greeted at the airport upon arrival knowing we had local people able to assist us with any questions and challenges that might arise. Ramesh and our guide Min were exceptional at this.
Ramesh and Min were not only very experienced and knowledgable with trekking but were also a wealth of information about the culture and customs in Nepal. They were kind, gracious, always made us feel safe along with having a sense of humour. We also very much appreciated our porter Harka who so graciously helped with carrying our personal items while trekking in the Himalayas.
The farewell lunch was a nice touch to end off an amazing trip.
Thank you
I describe our trip to the Mount Everest View point with one word: AMAZING
Everything was perfect. During our trek we had the whole time a comfortable feeling. We arrived in Kathmandu and our guide picked us up at the airport and joined us to our hotel. The hotel was beautiful. It is a small paradise inside Kathmandu. We had the feeling like home. (Hotel Horizon Kathmandu)
Our trip starts on the next day with a fly to Lukla. The first adventure during our trip. After the arrival in Lukla we start our trek with the target Mount Everest view hotel. The landscape during the whole time was amazing. We need three days to arrive the hotel. During this time we slept in Tea Houses and the organization was blameless. After the arriving we had the perfect view to the Mount Everest. The feeling was amazing during this moment. We had the perfect Landscape with all the great peaks. On the next day we started the trek back to Lukla and flight back to Kathmandu on the next morning.
Resume:
During the trip we had a comfortable feeling. Everything was perfect. Are you watching for a one week trip with the perfect landscape and the final view to the Mount Everest? Take this trek. But the trek was more than an amazing landscape and the Mount Everest. You can feel the peaceful atmosphere in the mountains of Nepal and you have a lot of contact to the native people. These people are really amazing.
Thank you to the Team of Nepal Mountain Trekkers. Thank you to Ramesh and to Bisang .It was beautiful.
