Personal and professional

I booked two treks with Nepal mountain Trekkers, the Manaslu circuit and the Upper Mustang. It fitted perfectly in my traveling schedule. Suman arranged everything perfectly.

Let’s start with the Manaslu circuit, I had a great guide called Mod. He was very kind and it was a true pleasure to trek with him through the mountains. However due the heavy rainfalls we had to turn around. Safety first. Mod was very helpful and professional in rearranging the trip back down. Mother Nature is the boss and we only can anticipate!

The upper Mustang. Wow, what a track. I was with a fellow traveler and that was a great fit. The guide Sabin was very professional and kind. It was a true pleasure to spend this time in one of the most beautiful areas of Nepal with him and the my fellow traveler. Everything was perfectly arranged.

Thank you! 🙏

Perfection in Staff . Tamang and Langtang trek

Before we arrived in Nepal i already oriented on what we would want and didnt want in a trek. I wrote down some companies to visit when in Kathmandu but then i met Suman ( his trekking company was at the the hotel where we stayed and not on my initial list) and I took a leap of trust and didnt look further : i let him arrange our trek. And am i glad i did:

‘We’ are are a mother and her ten year old son, so we had specific wishes (‘low and slow’) and we needed a guide and a porter with a lot of patience.

Suman listened well to our wishes , went to work and teamed us up with a guide which couldnt have been better for us: TB is friendly, professional, safety oriented . I am a physician myself and i found his level of preparedness impressive.

I think his greatest asset however was psychological: he sees exactly what each person needs (or doesnt need).

We took a 16 day trek, first Tamang , then Lantang. In all those days i not once saw TB impatient, and he kept looking out for our welfare. He didnt push when that would be the easy thing to do, but he checked what would be the best for us. He stepped into some guesthouses kitchen to help them out if that would mean a step up in hygiene. He adjusted the itinerary seamlessly when it became clear that my slow really meant slow. He put a new meaning to the word relaxed when we were to say ‘a bit quirky’. He coached my ten year old from a complete non-sporty to a more self reliant pre teen. He waited when we lagged. He even laughed at our silly jokes.

We could not have gotten a better guide for our trek and i would highly, highly recommend TB for your trek.

We had a great porter Mingmar who hauled our bag , filled our bottles, checked the rooms to make sure we didnt forget ( we sound a bit like complete morons now, mingmar was so super service minded not to mention speedy: he often brought our bag to the next point and then came back to see if he needed to do something else to make our trekking life easier)

All-in-all the team of Nepal Mountain Trekkers took us under their wings, and took extremely good care of us, while we were having a complete blast. This team is highly recommended.

Annapurna region 8 Day Trek

TB at Nepal Mountain Trekkers was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble, when we decided to change our trek at the last minute he had it organized in no time.
He is very knowledgeable and professional and knows all the Treks in Nepal, so if you are thinking of a trek in Nepal TB at Nepal Mountain Trekkers is your man. He was always looking out for our wellbeing, making sure we weren’t ill and we were eating enough. A fantastic experience all round.

Top guiding company

Our guide TB was recommended to us by an Australian friend and we had an amazing time in the care of TB and Nepal Mountain Trekkers. I’ve read other review that say how accommodating and professional TB is, and it is true he has an amazing professional and personal approach to his business of caring for and guding his clients. Special thanks to Krishna and Tuley too for taking care of the whole family constantly.

We arrived in Nepal with nothing but boots and having not told Nepal Mountain Trekkers how long we thought to trek, where we wanted to go, etc. Were assisted in every aspect from buying and renting gear to flights, deciding routes that suited us, jeeps, and of course the customary accommodation and meal concierge service at each “hotel” each day.

What started as a possible 7-10 day trip ended up being about 18 days, covered close to 200km and crossed Thorongla Pass which is higher than we thoughts we would be able to manage with the careful preparation of the team. And back in Kathmandu the company has their own hotel in Thamel which is very comfortable and surprisingly quiet, and the food is great too.

Can’t go past Nepal Mountain Trekkers

Our Annapurna trek (9 days) was organised so perfectly that we didn’t have to think about much other than what to eat and when to be ready. All of which was explained to us every step of the way.
TB (our guide and general boss man) and the porters were just delightful, always looking out for our wellbeing and general comfort (in somewhat uncomfortable environments at times) and they have become lifelong friends to the four of us (middle-aged women) who trekked together.
Our time in Khatmandu and Pokhara (either side of the trek) was also organised perfectly from arriving at the airport to our departure 3 weeks later. TB was even prepared to ‘shop’ with us and help us navigate the complexity of retail in Nepal.
Whilst barely noticeable, TB made changes on the trek and constantly sought out the best possible accomodation and routes to suit us and make sure we saw the majesty of the mountains and surrounds.
Absolutely nothing was too much trouble and we felt so safe and secure in their capable hands, right down to the multi cups of tea to keep us warm and hydrated, ice water for sore feet, the odd massage, fires lit just for us, being lifted up steep terrain and virtually carried across the odd suspension bridge when fear might have stopped us moving on.
I can’t recommend them highly enough, taking on such a challenging adventure requires true, experienced professionals and they were every bit of that.
Thank you so much to the whole team.

Tsum Valley Manaslu

Thank you to Ramesh at Nepal Mountain Trekkers and Expeditions for organising our group trip. We could not fault this company everything ran smoothly, our very experienced and knowledgeable guide TB kept us safe. TB went way beyond his duties of a trekking guide, even providing us with bed tea each morning. His infectious laughter and sense of humour kept our spirits high. We would not hesitate in recommending this fantastic company

Fantastic vacation – custom-made with trekking and sightseeing

At first we were just looking for a short, easy trekking tour near Kathmandu and found the Helambu Cultural Trek on the Internet. We felt well advised by Ramesh Dhakal and booked then the entire vacation with Nepal Mountain Trekkers. In addition to city tours through Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur, we also made a round trip in a jeep through other places around the Kathmandu valley. Our guide Min accompanied us all the time (14 days) and informed us very competently about the history and present of Nepal and also made us aware of many local details. We spent a fantastic vacation and loved the country and its people. Thank you so much, we will never forget our Nepal experience!

10/10 would recommend!

I spent a month in Nepal and everything I did during that time was organised by Ramesh from NMT. Honestly, I have no idea what I would have done without him! Not only did he organise my trek to Everest Base Camp flawlessly, he also organised a home stay for me in the village he grew up in and a volunteer project at the local school. Both the trek and the volunteer project were amazing, life-changing experiences and were accommodated by my guide Manish Simkhada. He made sure everything was running smoothly, always looked out for me (especially when I had too much local wine) 😂 and was just an overall kind soul. It’s not easy to put up with me every day for an entire month but somehow he did it without complaint!

Thank you Ramesh and Manish for an amazing month and I will see you next time!

Oh and btw, I highly recommend doing some volunteer teaching at the school. The kids are super lovely and it is a very rewarding and eye-opening experience. Village life was simple and incredibly calming – away from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu.

Tara & Antoine from Montreal, in the Himalayas

With the Great help and knowledge of Ramesh from NMT, I have experienced this beautiful Trek and discovered other parts of Himalayans mountains during a 16 Day journey, starting from Jiri, with an excellent guide named Tara.

This an excellent way to keep in shape, meet wonderful local people, eat organic food (Dhal Bat Takari…), discover remote and amazing landscapes, encounter wildlife, colourful plants, and feel the energy of continuous rivers & waterfalls.

I suggest you to choose the right time to go trekking in the Himalayas, since the weather can greatly alter your experience with the mountains. I was here in November, we had clear skyes everyday, so we had the opportunity to have clear vistas on the many imposing mountains that form this unique region on Planet Earth.

Tara, Ramesh, and all Nepalese and foreigners I met during this trip have provided me an unparalled experience with discovering Nepal. I highly recommend to travel either alone or as a couple This is the best way to meet and share with others.

Nepalese people, examplified by people at NMT, are happy, sincere, honest, hardworking, proud, outreaching, and most of all Unique. You won’t find any other Culture like Nepal anywhere else on Earth. There is also in Kathmandu lot’s of good restaurants, my favourite Indian food.
