Fantastic Nepal Adventure

Namaste,

My daughter and I recently returned from a fantastic trip to Nepal where we trekked in the Himalayas to view Mount Everest, toured Katmandu and took a jeep safari in Bardhia National Park.

We highly recommend contacting Ramesh at Nepal Mountain Trekkers to assist you with coordinating and organizing your travel plans while in Nepal. Ramesh will customize your trip to your wishes and comfort levels before you arrive or when you arrive (with flexibility in mind). He will provide you with experienced guides for trekking and or sight seeing. We were so thankful to be greeted at the airport upon arrival knowing we had local people able to assist us with any questions and challenges that might arise. Ramesh and our guide Min were exceptional at this.

Ramesh and Min were not only very experienced and knowledgable with trekking but were also a wealth of information about the culture and customs in Nepal. They were kind, gracious, always made us feel safe along with having a sense of humour. We also very much appreciated our porter Harka who so graciously helped with carrying our personal items while trekking in the Himalayas.

The farewell lunch was a nice touch to end off an amazing trip.

Thank you

Amazing 21 days in Nepal

Namaste,
My wife and I went recently to Nepal for 22 days. We completed the EBC, visited the Chitwan Park, Pokhara and of course the capital Kathmandu. When one is planning a long, grueling, high altitude trekking trip such as EBC, they have many questions like: all gears, lodges, guide, porter or both, permits, altitude sickness and more… But when we just arrived to Horizon Hotel and we have had the pleasure to meet Mr Ramesh owner of the Nepal Mountain Trekkers agency, all the questions and doubts get its response. Indeed, Mr. Ramesh shows extreme flexibility and speed arrangement for your EBC trekking from getting permits for hiking and porter/guide at the same arrival day to Kathmandu. Moreover, on the same night of my return to Kathmandu from the EBC, Mr. Ramesh arrange for us the next tour trip to Chitwan Park and Pokhara with paragliding and also the bungee jump near the Tibetan border. All this in just within an hour of his making calls, he managed to arrange A-Z tour with all the arrangements needed.
I would like really to thank Mr. Ramesh Dhakal from Nepal Mountain Trekkers organized the tour for us. I would highly recommend Mr. Ramesh for his very efficient and professional service. Owner Ramesh is a warmhearted person that listens to your wishes and provides alternatives you probably would not have come up with.
In addition, the porter/guide for EBC Mr. Lapa was really professional, respectful and friendly providing even cultural overview of Himalayan Habitant.
I was able to capture the spirit of Nepal, creating the most memorable experience that I will never forget.
Dhanyabad

trek Annapurna circuit, 11 days.

Recently completed a trek in the annapurnas, Besisham, Manang, Muktinah, Jomson. Took 11 days. I organised it while in Kathmandu through Nepal Mountain trekkers ( easy to find, office in front of horizon hotel). Ramesh was great giving me a competitive and detailed quote,a lot cheaper than organising back in Australia. All organised on the spot and we left next morning. He even organised my luggage to be transfered to Pokhra. Everything promised was delivered and my porter-guide Krishna was fantastic. I would highly recommend this company.

Wonderful experience with majestic view of Mt. Everest

My wife and I with another couple (all in our mid 60s) went on a “Everest Base Camp tour” with helicopter from Air Dynasty. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience seeing the majestic Mt Everest. The helicopter took us to Everest View Hotel for a breakfast stop before going back to the base. Mr Ramesh Dhakal from Nepal Mountain Trekkers organized the tour for us. I would highly recommend Ramesh for his very efficient and professional service.

Guide & Trekking Company Review

I have been coming to Nepal for 15 years and have had the pleasure to have used Nepal Mountain Trekkers for many years. I have used several of their guides many times and they have always been very professional, respectful and very knowledgeable. This is a company of experienced guides run by experienced guides. Some of their guides I have known for over 10 years and have always been very consistent in the service offered. I have faced various challenging situations when going through the Himalaya and these guides have provided the support, guidance and especially reassurance to help me get through and overcome these challenges.
Their mountain knowledge is complemented well by their cultural knowledge which means my trips have always a much richer meaning for myself in addition to exploring the mountain beauty.
From a more personal point I can attest that I have trekked with and found the following guides to be very proficient and experienced. Aakash Gurung, Daljit Gurung and Krishna Gurung.

Many thanks

Andrew Blake

Trek to Everest Base Camp and around the Annapurna mountains

Our spectacular 7 weeks of trekking was planned, managed and led by Shiva Lal Bhatta who is an exceptional leader and guide. Shiva has boundless energy and a wealth of local knowledge that will ensure that you miss nothing on a trek, stay safe and have a truly wonderful and enjoyable experience. Shiva arranged all food and accommodation for our trek and we wanted for nothing. He made us very aware of altitude sickness and made sure we avoided that. We walked over glaciers, across avalanche areas, across rivers, through historic sites and numerous beautiful villages and temples. It was truly the trip of a lifetime and I can highly recommend Shiva as your guide in Nepal and I cannot believe that he could be bettered. The people we met through Shiva and the spectacular scenery experiences he afforded us will never be forgotten. I must also thank Ramesh for his part in helping us enjoy such an exceptional experience.

A spectacular and unforgettable adventure to Everest Base Camp”

On returning home from my trip to Everest base camp, people ask me “how was it?”. I always pause and think: “where do I start? The beautiful forests, the wonderful sounds of yak bells, and the things I learnt from my guide Min Nepali. There was so much awesomeness; it’s very difficult to convey what happened in the two and bit weeks I had with Nepal Mountain Trekkers.
A good start is Nepal Mountain Trekkers organization and friendliness. From the very first contact I made with Ramesh Dhakal there was a good tailoring of the trek to our needs. All matters were well explained and no stone left unturned in Nepal Mountain Trekkers organisation. The adjustment of the holiday to our needs was constant throughout, with our guide Min Nepali was able to change our programmer throughout the trek to adapt to all our wishes. Min acted in a caring and friendly manner throughout the trip.
The accommodation was excellent the whole way up the mountain, the food and drinks options were good (and very filling – I now have a new found love for Dal Baht and yak meat!) and there was plenty of opportunity to meet others travelers and have interesting convivial conversation. Our guide, Min became both a friend as well as our guide 🙂 He was extremely knowledgeable about the environment, enlightening us on our trek on mountain eights, Tibetan culture, and plants. Truly a Renaissance man of the Manaslu Himalayas areas
I heartily recommend anyone considering a trip the Himalayas find these Nepal Mountain Trekkers team to get the most memorable experiences out of your time!

Manaslu Circuit and Marsyangdi Valley, Annapurna, Nepal Trekking

We had arranged with Ramesh from Nepal Mountain Trekkers to do the Manaslu/Tsum trek as a part camping/part tea house trek. We had had Min (Sanjeev) as our guide before and specifically asked for him to guide us again. The team was very considerate of our needs and our comfort and we were well looked after. There were problems, which were out of their control – the weather was not settled and for the first part of the trek we did not have clear views of the peaks; there had been several landslips which made part of the trek difficult; and the main trail into Tsum valley was destroyed so that it was very difficult to go there. Despite these substantial difficulties, we had a great trek around Manaslu, and found the villages of great interest. They are culturally fascinating and we enjoyed conversations with people we met on trek, specifically Nyima from Gyap and Nyima from Samdo who are involved with development projects in their villages. Look out for solar showers in 2017 in Samdo, which are for the local people but also for trekkers and should raise some money for the community. It is inspiring to see again the resilience of the local people as they re-construct after the earthquake as this area was one of the epicentres of the 2015 earthquake. Crossing the Larkye La was not easy, but stunning and we have to mention Syam, our cook, who popped up unexpectedly at different parts of this walk to hand us drinks and snacks. That lifted our spirits no end! As we had extra time, because we had not been able to go into Tsum valley, we did part of the Annapurna circuit, went to Tilicho Lake, Moon Lake and Ice Lake. Here the weather was kinder and we got perfect views of peaks and blue lakes. As we came down again, we spent a night at Temang and saw the most fantastic sunset on Manaslu from there. Apart from the cook Syam, we wish to comment on Min who again was an excellent guide. When there are difficulties, he told us clearly what these were and involved us with making decisions about what to do. We would ask for him as our guide for a future trek. We also had DB (Dhan Bahadur) as our porter/guide for the Annapurna part and could not ask for a better companion. He is very helpful, and sociable, and very helpful when we found parts of the trails difficult. What could have been done differently? The main thing is that it would have been helpful to find out before the trek that it was difficult to get into Tsum and we could have adjusted plans in Kathmandu and got different permits, for example to Nar Phu instead. The Department of Immigration, who issue the permit for Tsum, should have known that the trail into Tsum was closed and stopped issuing permits – their colleagues based in the villages near the beginning of the Tsum Valley trek had certainly known for a number of days before we were approaching that part of the trek. Also on the Annapurna circuit the ‘road’ is having a significant impact. There is a real need for alternative walking trails to be made, maintained and clearly signposted. The ‘road’ has made it possible for the well acclimatized to visit amazing spots like Tilicho Lake in five rather than fourteen days. This means that the hotels and lodges in Manang and above are becoming overcrowded. Overall, we are very happy with the experience. We’ll just have to plan to go back to Tsum Valley another time, and would like to re-visit the high villages of Manaslu, and for a next trek, would plan to incorporate side treks, like walks to the border with Tibet. Thank you to all at Nepal Mountain Trekkers for an excellent trek.
